Yesterday I paddled from the Old Brandon Road bridge to the low water dam (and back).  This is the small swamp just off the flood control structure/channel behind the YMCA. There are quite a few of these along the Pearl. The one just to the south had a couple of alligators lounging around on an island.

The offerings of the stinky Conoco on State Street. You can’t walk into this place without smelling like a potato log for the rest of the day.

The only zombie-themed tag I’ve ever seen.

I saw this outside the county courthouse last month. I’m calling dibs on “WHT CHOC”.

Shadow on the wall at Walgreen’s

I just saw this snake on the sidewalk in front of the Governor’s Mansion. I snapped this shot and then threw (the appropriate term in the southern vernacular would be “slung”) the snake through the iron fence onto the lawn. Throwing a snake at the Governor’s Mansion is probably considered a terrorist act. “But, Your Honor, I was only acting in the best interests of the snake!”

This is the leprechaun on the side of what was once Kelley’s Discount Office Furniture. Now the building houses an Episcopal Church and two galleries, but the leprechaun remains. This leprechaun hasn’t fallen for all the hype about gold as an investment strategy; he’s got cash money in his pot.
